Omini, who visited the health facility to commemorate the governor’s birthday, extended the gesture to patients across the general wards, children’s ward and maternity ward, providing financial relief to those receiving treatment.

During the visit, the lawmaker also interacted with medical personnel and expressed appreciation to doctors, nurses and other hospital staff for their dedication to patient care and service delivery.

He explained that the gesture was motivated by the desire to celebrate the governor’s birthday in a way that directly touched the lives of ordinary people, stressing that acts of kindness should go beyond special occasions.

According to Omini, the visit was primarily about showing compassion to patients and recognising the efforts of healthcare workers who continue to attend to the medical needs of residents.

He wished the patients a speedy recovery and encouraged them to remain hopeful as they undergo treatment, while expressing gratitude to the hospital’s staff for their commitment to their duties.

The visit formed part of the lawmaker’s birthday goodwill gesture in honour of Governor Otu, with the intervention providing support to patients and acknowledging the contributions of healthcare workers at the general hospital in Ugep, headquarters of Yakurr Local Government Area.
