Evang. (Hon.) Kingsley Ntui Isong, Member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, has denied reports linking him to a meeting with the leadership of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria in Abuja, describing the publication as false and misleading.
By Victoria Omini- CALABAR
Isong, who made his position known in a statement, insisted that he was neither part of the alleged meeting nor familiar with the organisation’s Abuja office or its leadership.
He reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, declaring that his commitment to their respective second term ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections remained firm.
The lawmaker explained that his political responsibilities as one of the coordinators of the IBOE ALLIANCE in Cross River Central Senatorial District placed him at the forefront of grassroots mobilisation and efforts to consolidate support for Governor Otu.
He also identified himself as the National President of Hope for New Nigeria Global Initiatives, a platform he said was committed to the re-election of both Tinubu and Otu in 2027.
According to him, the circulation of a press release bearing his name in connection with a meeting he did not attend amounted to a misrepresentation of his political position and risked creating unnecessary confusion about his loyalties.
Isong maintained that his political convictions had not changed, stressing that he remained determined to mobilise support for both leaders and deliver his ward in the 2027 elections.
He further declared that attempts to undermine his political standing through what he described as falsehood and misrepresentation would not distract him from his commitments.
“My political engagements will continue to be guided by truth, integrity, loyalty and a firm commitment to the success of the causes I support,” he stated.
The lawmaker also called on those responsible for circulating the disputed statement to acknowledge their actions and correct the record, rather than allow what he described as a false narrative to persist.
Invoking his faith, Isong expressed confidence that divine justice would ultimately expose falsehood and vindicate the truth.
He concluded by reiterating that his support for Tinubu and Otu remained unchanged, insisting that the controversy surrounding the alleged Abuja meeting would not weaken his commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
