The grand finale of the 25th coronation anniversary of the Universal Monarch, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, culminated in the recognition of outstanding journalists in Cross River State.

This event Held at the U.J. Esuene International Stadium in Calabar on Sunday, the event attracted a crowd of over 30,000 dignitaries, religious leaders and faithful from different parts of the world.
At the ceremony, several media professionals were decorated with the King of Kings Silver Jubilee Journalists Award. Among those honoured were Comrade Archibong Bassey, Chairman of the Cross River State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Comrade Gill Nsa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Affairs and former Chief Press Secretary, as well as Comrade Mike Abang, Secretary of the Council, Comrade Anietie Akpan, Comrade Vitalis Ugo and Comrade Emma Okpong, alongside other recipients. The awards recognised their contributions to journalism and coverage of the Brotherhood’s activities.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Elder Bassey Imohowo, described the celebration as a historic and sacred milestone, marking 25 years of what he termed divine kingship and enduring spiritual leadership. He expressed gratitude for the gathering, noting that it symbolised reverence and celebration of the Universal Monarch and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Imohowo stated that the anniversary went beyond marking time, describing it as a reflection of divine sovereignty, enduring grace and an eternal kingdom. According to him, the past 25 years have demonstrated mercy, truth, power and profound love for humanity, adding that the event represents a deeper spiritual reality with global impact.
He called on followers to use the moment for thanksgiving and renewal, urging them to remain committed to the service of God and to strengthen their faith.
Also speaking, the Brotherhood’s spokesman, Dr Amah Williams, urged members across the world to remain steadfast in their belief in the leadership of Olumba Obu. He described the period as an era of kingship and encouraged adherents to spread the message within their communities and beyond.
Delivering his sermon, Olumba Olumba Obu described the occasion as a fulfillment of divine prophecy, declaring it a significant moment in the divine plan of creation. He told followers that they were no longer strangers but sons of the living God.
The spiritual leader emphasised the enduring nature of the kingdom, noting that while earthly systems and kingdoms have come and gone, this kingdom remains because it is founded on the unchanging word of God. He urged unity, love and steadfast faith among believers, assuring them of the continued growth of the kingdom.
As part of the celebrations, winners of an international singing competition were also honoured, with Lagos State emerging first, Rivers State placing second, and Germany taking third position, while other participating regions and countries were ranked accordingly.
