CALABAR — The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council, Comrade Archibong Bassey, has been recognised among the 100 Most Influential Women in Cross River State in the 2026 edition of Leading Ladies in CRS.
Her selection was conveyed in a notification and congratulatory letter from the editorial team of the publication, stating that she emerged on the final list after being considered alongside several other nominees.
According to the organisers, the women selected for the compendium were recognised for their accomplishments, leadership and the inspirational impact of their individual journeys.
The recognition marks an important milestone in Bassey’s career, particularly as the head of the state’s umbrella body for journalists. Her professional experience and leadership trajectory have positioned her as an influential voice within the media industry and the broader Cross River community.
The organisers stated that the public presentation of the Leading Ladies in CRS: 100 Most Influential Women compendium will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the State Library Complex, Cross River State.
