Obah Edom Tawo, the Nigerians Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, has expressed gratitude to party members and supporters following his victory in the party's primary exercise, describing the outcome as a mandate rooted in resilience, justice, and representation.
In a victory message addressed to the people of Obubra and Etung, chapter and ward chairmen, community leaders, and supporters of his political movement, Tawo said the result of the primary election reflected the collective voice and aspirations of the people.
"The primary results are clear. The people have spoken," he stated. "You have not simply voted for a candidate. You have voted for three principles that form the foundation of who we are and what we stand for as a people: resilience, justice, and representation."
The House of Representatives hopeful noted that the mandate bestowed on him carries significant responsibility and should not be viewed merely as a political triumph.
"I write to you today not as a triumphant politician, but as a son of this land who has received a mandate that carries weight," he said.
Tawo pledged to prioritize the welfare, livelihoods, and future of constituents if elected to represent Obubra and Etung at the National Assembly.
"I accept your mandate to be your representative at the National Assembly with a primary purpose of putting your needs, livelihood, and future first," he added.
He thanked party faithful and supporters for their confidence in his candidacy and assured them of his commitment to sustained engagement as the political process progresses.
The NDC candidate's victory in the primary election positions him as the party's flag bearer for the forthcoming House of Representatives election in the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency.
