The Forum of Special Advisers to the Governor of Cross River State on Monday presented a comprehensive scorecard of the administration of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, outlining major achievements recorded across infrastructure, education, transportation, asset recovery, urban renewal, and public service delivery over the past three years.

Speaking during a sectoral media briefing in Calabar, Chairman of the Forum and Special Adviser on General Duties, Bar. Ekpenyong Akiba, said the engagement was aimed at updating the public on the progress made by the administration and providing factual information on government projects and programmes.
Akiba noted that Governor Otu's administration has remained committed to citizen-centred governance, emphasizing that numerous projects have been completed and put into use across the state, many without formal commissioning ceremonies.
He explained that the sectoral briefing was designed to showcase achievements across different sectors through presentations by various Special Advisers, stressing that the administration's accomplishments were multi-dimensional and touched virtually every aspect of governance.
Presenting the infrastructure scorecard, Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Raphael Adoga, highlighted extensive road construction and rehabilitation projects across the Southern, Central and Northern Senatorial Districts.
According to him, the administration has undertaken the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of hundreds of kilometres of roads, including key projects in Calabar Municipality, Calabar South, Odukpani, Akamkpa, Ikom, Yakurr, Obubra, Ogoja, Obanliku and other local government areas.
Adoga also listed several completed projects, including roads within security formations, network roads in Calabar Metropolis, concrete roads in various communities, and critical access roads linking rural communities.
He further disclosed that the administration had invested heavily in public infrastructure, including the renovation and remodelling of government facilities such as the State Library Complex, Local Government Service Commission headquarters, legislative residences, and the Governor's Office.
The Project Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser also revealed that work on the Obudu International Cargo Airport was progressing steadily, with navigational equipment already in place and only a few structural components left before operational commencement.
In the education sector, government records presented at the briefing showed that 49 primary school projects had been completed, while additional school infrastructure projects were being executed in partnership with the Federal Government.
The administration was also commended for the extensive renovation of the Governor's Office, which now operates with modern facilities, solar-powered infrastructure, backup generators and improved energy supply.
Akiba further noted that Governor Otu had demonstrated prudent management of state resources while pursuing aggressive recovery of government assets and revenue sources.
Speaking on behalf of the Department of Assets Management and Recovery, Special Adviser Gilbert Agbor said the department had emerged as a strategic institution focused on recovering lost assets, protecting government property, enhancing revenue generation and strengthening accountability in public resource management.
He stated that since its establishment, the department had undertaken several reforms, audits, investigations and enforcement actions aimed at safeguarding government assets and maximising economic benefits for the people of Cross River State.
The Special Advisers maintained that the administration's achievements reflected Governor Otu's commitment to inclusive development, infrastructure renewal and improved service delivery across the state.
They expressed confidence that the briefing would provide clarity on the administration's performance and address misconceptions surrounding some government projects and programmes.
