A massive show of support was witnessed on May 10, 2025, at the Ikom Township Stadium, as the people of Cross River Central Senatorial District rallied behind Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu's bid for a second term in office. The event, which was attended by key stakeholders, party leaders, and government officials, was a resounding success.
The endorsement event was a clear indication of the governor's popularity and the people's confidence in his leadership. The overwhelming support from the citizens of Cross River Central Senatorial District, members of the Cross River Central Progressive Initiative (CPI), and leaders of the Central Senatorial Zone and the APC, is a testament to the governor's commitment to the development and unity of the district.
The event was graced by the presence of notable dignitaries, including Chairman of the Occasion and Former Governor, His Excellency, Chief Clement Ebri; Guest of Honour and Chairman of the APC, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba; Distinguished Senator representing the Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Jones Williams; and Honourable Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, among others.
The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Speaker of the Cross River House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, has extended his heartfelt appreciation to all citizens, party members, and government officials who participated in the event. He praised the collective commitment to the unity, development, and continued success of the Central Senatorial District and the APC family.
The secretary of the central planning committee of the event, Evang Hon. Kingsley Ntui Isong also appreciated the speaker for his state fastness and leadership dynamism, he also appreciated all the leaders of zone for their display open support and commitment toward ensuring the Government’s second term is achievable in 2027.
