The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star clarifies its corporate status, debunking breakaway group claims, emphasizing divine governance under Leader Olumba Olumba Obu and maintaining its World Headquarters in Calabar.
In a press conference held at 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, Senator B.W. Degi, Secretary-General of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), addressed the organization's corporate status and debunked claims by a breakaway group. Degi paid tribute to Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, the founder and Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe, who established the "new Kingdom of God on earth" in fulfillment of Daniel 2:44.
The BCS was formally registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 1964 and has since grown into a global Christian movement with permanent places of worship on multiple continents. Degi emphasized the "incontrovertible" leadership of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords in 1999, stating that BCS governance is derived from divine anointment, not electoral or civil processes.
Degi revealed that the breakaway group's attempts to replace the BCS Board of Trustees have been unsuccessful, including registering a separate entity and a lawsuit challenging the 2014 trustee appointments. The World Headquarters of BCS remains 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, and the BCS pilgrimage destination is the Holy City of Biakpan. The current Board of Trustees, composed of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, and 10 others, is recognized by the CAC official portal.
Degi advised BCS members, corporate organizations, government institutions, and the general public to disregard the breakaway group's claims and disassociate from them.
