The member representing the Akpabuyo state constituency at the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Bassey Effiong Bassey, has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Abasi-Abasi Educational Support Award in Ikot Nakanda, Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state over the weekend, Bassey maintained that the greatest legacy he wants to be remembered for is to continue to support his constituent’s educational pursuits.
He added that education is the best gift you can give someone or a group of people, and that is what he stands for.
Hon. Bassey, while encouraging the beneficiaries of the scholarship not to disappoint themselves and Akpabuyo Local Government Area, also advised them to shun all forms of social vices that will jeopardize their lives and future.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to their representative at the state house of assembly for his gesture.
Our correspondent reports that a total of 28 secondary school students benefitted while 41 university undergraduates benefitted, which covers the 10 wards of Akpabuyo State Constituency and three communities in Bakassi Local Government Area.
