The Ideal Progressive Movement has pledged total support for the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections, endorsing all candidates fielded by the party.
The resolution was reached during the movement’s maiden meeting which drew members, supporters and prominent leaders united around its vision of unity, progress and grassroots engagement.
Speaking at the event, AIG Chief Enene Okon Rtd., on behalf of the movement, announced the formal endorsement of all APC candidates. He described it as a collective commitment to ensure victory for the party in 2027.
The endorsement was immediately backed by a motion moved by Comr. Peter Okon, Special Adviser on Security to the Executive Chairman of Bakassi LGA. The motion received the backing of members present, reinforcing the group’s determination to work for the success of the APC.
A major highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of ward coordinators. The exercise was carried out by Hon. Princess Christiana Eso, Executive Vice Chairman of Bakassi LGA.
Congratulating the new coordinators, Hon. Princess Eso urged them to see their appointment as a service to both the movement and their communities. She charged them to begin immediate mobilization in their wards, engage stakeholders and build a strong grassroots structure ahead of the elections.
The Ideal Progressive Movement said it continues to enjoy the backing of its key leaders, whose support has strengthened its organization and activities.
The group also reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Apostle Senator Bassey Edet Otu, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, Rt. Hon. Joseph Bassey and Andrea Ekeng Inyang for the 2027 polls.
According to the movement, the appointment of ward coordinators signals the start of a more structured grassroots mobilization drive. The coordinators are expected to grow membership, deepen community engagement, expand the movement’s presence in their wards and promote peaceful politics.
The Ideal Progressive Movement called on members to remain united, disciplined and focused as activities towards 2027 intensify.
With its endorsement of APC candidates and new ward structure now in place, the movement says it is fully set to mobilize support for the party across Cross River State.
