The Association of Young Business Owners of Nigeria, AYBON, has secured partnership support from the Cross River Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, MEDA, to scale youth entrepreneurship under the Campus CEO Initiative.
A delegation led by AYBON National President, Engr. Offiong Ikpeme, and Cross River Chapter President, Idoreyin Adams, met with MEDA management in Calabar recently.
The meeting focused on aligning AYBON’s programmes with the state’s MSME development agenda and leveraging the Cross River Enterprise Development Centre, CRS-EDC.
MEDA Director-General, Mr. Great Ogban, commended AYBON for mobilising young entrepreneurs and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to MSME growth through training, access to finance, mentorship and business development support.
To support AYBON members, Ogban announced three immediate interventions: a 50 percent discount on enrollment at CRS-EDC for AYBON members; free Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, registration for 100 AYBON member businesses; and onboarding of AYBON members onto the MEDA database for easy access to future state interventions.
He also urged the AYBON executive to affiliate with the Calabar Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, CALCCIMA, to expand commercial opportunities for young business owners in the state.
