Diaspora Network Backs Gov. Otu’s Second-Term Bid Ahead of 2027

 The Nigeria Diaspora Business Network, in partnership with Pillars of Equity, has thrown its weight behind Cross River State Governor, Bassey Edet Otu, endorsing him for a second term in office.

The group commended the governor’s performance across key sectors, including education, security, tourism, infrastructure, and job creation, describing his leadership as impactful and transformative.

The endorsement was made public on Monday at the Ernest Bassey Press Centre in Calabar by Kenneth Etim, the group’s Director of Finance and Acting Chairman.

Speaking to journalists, Etim dismissed allegations that the organization is politically driven or sponsored by the government. He stressed that the group’s mission is rooted in promoting good governance rather than pursuing political ambitions.

“We are not a political body, and we are not funded by the government. Our goal is to support credible leadership,” he stated.

Etim explained that although the network collaborates with government institutions, it operates independently and remains committed to holding leaders accountable. He also acknowledged the efforts of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while emphasizing that their support is based on performance and results.

Highlighting Governor Otu’s achievements, Etim noted improvements in school infrastructure, road construction, tourism revitalization, and enhanced security across the state. He added that such progress justifies the call for continuity beyond 2027.

He further applauded the state’s senator for his legislative contributions, citing the sponsorship of 22 bills, eight motions, as well as scholarship initiatives, road projects, and empowerment programmes.

The group also called on residents to attend a mega rally slated for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Main Avenue Primary School, aimed at celebrating the administration’s accomplishments and galvanizing public support.

Etim concluded by urging citizens to sustain the momentum of development in the state by supporting Governor Otu’s continued leadership.
