Etung Women in Politics Visit Hon. Kingsley Ntui, Demand Greater Inclusion and Endorse Tinubu, Prince Otu for Second Term

In a show of solidarity and political engagement, members of the Etung Women in Politics (EWIP) paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Kingsley Ntui, the representative of Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly. The visit aimed to familiarize the group with the legislator and strengthen ties between the Assembly and grassroots women leaders.

During the visit, Hon. Christabel Akpeosuwo Ebuta, the Secretary and spokesperson for EWIP, lauded Hon. Ntui for his impactful leadership and achievements over the past two years in office. She acknowledged his dedication to service and expressed the group’s appreciation for his commitment to the Etung community.

Also present was the President of EWIP, Hon. Mary Eba Onong, who doubles as the Special Assistant on Women Affairs to the group. She expressed gratitude to Hon. Ntui for his efforts and used the occasion to advocate for increased female participation in politics. Hon. Onong appealed to the legislator to ensure women are included in both state and national-level appointments, not just limited to local government roles. She emphasized the importance of upholding the 30% affirmative action policy for women in politics.

In a significant political move, the Etung Women in Politics publicly endorsed His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, citing their confidence in the leaders' capabilities and policies.

Hon. Kingsley Ntui was visibly moved by the visit and expressed deep appreciation to the women for their unwavering support and activism. He praised their contributions to political development in the constituency and assured them that women from Etung would be actively considered for political appointments. He encouraged them to continue their commendable efforts and reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance.

As a token of appreciation and solidarity, the group presented a portrait of Hon. Kingsley Ntui, symbolizing their admiration and loyalty. They further pledged their continued support, assuring the legislator of their readiness to work with him whenever called upon.
