A new political group, the Cross River Mainstream Organisation, has been officially inaugurated in Calabar to spearhead Governor Bassey Edet Otu's second term bid. The organisation brings together high-profile politicians and stakeholders from across the state, including members of the State Assembly, the executive, and influential figures from the 18 local government areas. This gathering of "very sophisticated politicians" aims to propel synergy towards the governor's re-election bid.

The group's leadership team includes Hon Kingsley Ntui as Chairman, Hon Cyril James Omini as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Hon Dr Martins Achadu as Director of Media and Publicity. During the inauguration, Hon Ntui charged members to mobilise grassroots support down to the polling unit level, with the goal of securing at least a 95% victory for Governor Otu in the 2027 gubernatorial election.

The formation of the Cross River Mainstream Organisation is aimed at consolidating the achievements of Governor Otu, which include the revamping of the Obudu Cattle Ranch, renovation of the State Library Complex, upgrade of the Governor's Office, and extensive road construction across the state. These initiatives have earned the governor overwhelming endorsement across the state, and the organisation's goal is to build on this momentum.

The inauguration of the frontline team marks the beginning of strategic political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election. With Governor Otu's popularity and the organisation's mobilisation efforts, the stage is set for a strong campaign that will deliver the people's mandate. The Cross River Mainstream Organisation is poised to play a crucial role in securing the governor's re-election bid, and its members are committed to working tirelessly to achieve this goal.

By mobilising grassroots support and highlighting the governor's achievements, the organisation aims to demonstrate its commitment to the people of Cross River State and to securing a second term for Governor Otu. The 2027 gubernatorial election is shaping up to be a significant contest, and the Cross River Mainstream Organisation is determined to play a key role in shaping its outcome. With its strong leadership team and mobilisation strategy, the organisation is well-positioned to achieve its goals and deliver a resounding victory for the governor.
